アレキサンダー大王 Alexander the Great 歴史人物シリーズ145
古代ギリシャのアルゲアス朝マケドニア王国のバシレウス(王)。また、コリントス同盟(ヘラス同盟)の盟主、エジプトのファラオも兼ねた。
ヘーラクレースとアキレウスを祖に持つとされ、ギリシアにおける最高の家系的栄誉と共に生まれた。アラビアやペルシアではイスカンダルと呼ばれる。
20歳で父であるピリッポス2世の王位を継承。その治世の多くをアジアや北アフリカにおける類を見ない戦役(東方遠征)に費やし、30歳までにギリシャからインド北西にまたがる大帝国を建設した。戦術・戦略の天才であり、戦えば決して負けることがなく、少年のごとき純朴な野心を持っていた。
異民族統治においては独創的な方針をとり、アレクサンドロス以後、世界は一変したことから、歴史上において最も成功した軍事指揮官であると広く考えられている。(Wikipedia より)
